Interconnection, systems and vibrations.

Through my artistic research, I develop ways to reveal hidden aspects of the numerous and fluctuating contexts in which we live our lives. I invent and manipulate processes to slow down, zoom in, or take a step back from the interconnected systems that constitute our everyday. I question how they function, their codes, their implications and, their boundaries. Whose systems are they? Who think of them, and who build them? How can we gain agency on the structures designed by few and used by all in order to take an active part in the shaping of our worlds?

We often feel overwhelmed by what we learn to see as an increasingly chaotic universe and we redirect ourselves, more or less willingly, towards the soothing effects brought by the pattern recognition of an order that ends up seeming like a natural one. The complexity that makes the richness of our reality becomes problematic, an obstacle to erase or "junk" information, not to be recorded.

I look for alternative patterns, to grasp little bits of the stacked layers of reality, and look at the hidden links knotting us together. How are they formed? How do volatile bits agglomerate into meaningful ensembles? Whether they become cities, landscapes or digital networks, we experience many of them as given instead of built. In order to deconstruct the "Natural Order of Things", I go back and forth between what we build and the context in which we do it, highlighting the emerging loops of mutual influences. The rain keeps falling while our mines erect mountains.

We must embrace different ways of knowing. Sensitive ways that welcome the complexity as something to cultivate instead as something to rationalize. "Chaos" as precious information, even when unquantifiable.
This is the direction of my practice, its goals and running theme. Complexity as something to joyfully entangle our existence with.

We mostly are links

Creating thoughts and knowledge is intrinsically collective. We weave around, build on top or unmake together what has been already discovered. Here are a few of the people who have influenced or keep influencing my life, my work or both.
I only counted here the ones with whom I’ve interacted directly and I don't include all the other thinkers, writers, artists and doers who would probably deserve their own page.
Thank you ❤️
